Now in its 30th year, Art in the Pearl is Portland’s largest outdoor art fair, taking over the historic North Park Blocks in the Pearl District (between NW Davis and NW Flanders) for Labor Day weekend. The festival is produced by twenty dedicated volunteer board members who are working artists and professionals, and it’s committed to community outreach through art, education, and entertainment. Over 140 accomplished artists from the U.S. and Canada, selected through a rigorous jury process, will be on hand to sell their work and chat with visitors, and the event is free and open to all ages. Kids and families can join in at the Hands-On Art Pavilion, and a local belly dance troupe performs at the opening and closing ceremonies, with roving musicians circulating throughout.
